Key takeaways

To approve a month of social posts in one sitting, send the approver the whole month by the 23rd, ask for sign-off by the 25th, and agree in advance what they check: offers, prices, claims, people and tone. One 30 to 45 minute review replaces dozens of interruptions. Silence by the deadline should mean approved, except for posts flagged as needing a yes.

  • Send the month by the 23rd, sign off by the 25th.
  • 30 to 45 minutes reviews a month of 12 to 16 posts.
  • Agree what the approver checks, and what they do not.
  • Silence means approved, except flagged posts.

Why approve the month in one sitting?

Approving post by post means a stream of interruptions for the approver and a stream of delays for the maker, and posts miss their dates while waiting. One sitting gives the approver the whole picture, including the balance of offers and topics, and gives the maker a clear deadline after which the month is ready.

What should the approver check?

Agree a short list: offers and prices are right, claims can be backed up, people and customers shown have agreed, nothing is confidential, and the tone fits the business. The approver should not rewrite captions for style unless something is wrong. Rewrites at approval stage are what make the process slow.

How do you send the month for approval?

Send one link: the calendar filtered to next month, with each post's caption and image visible, or the scheduling tool's preview. Flag the posts that need a definite yes, such as offers, customer stories and anything regulated. Ask for comments in one place, not across email, chat and phone.

What if the approver misses the deadline?

Agree the rule in advance: unflagged posts are approved by default after the 25th, and flagged posts wait. Schedule the approved ones so the month starts on time. If the deadline is missed every month, move the review to a fixed slot in the approver's diary, or give approval to someone with more time.

When should posts get approved one by one?

Approve individually for reactive posts, posts about sensitive events, and in regulated sectors where a compliance officer must check each financial promotion or health claim. Everything else can go through the monthly review.

What does this look like in practice?

A pattern we see: an owner who approves each post by text message, often days late, so posts go out late or not at all. One fixed 45-minute review each month, with a silence-means-yes rule, usually gets the whole month scheduled before it starts.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get social media posts approved faster?

Send the whole month at once by a fixed date, agree what the approver checks, flag the few posts that need a definite yes, and treat silence after the deadline as approval for everything else. One review replaces many interruptions.

How long should approving a month of posts take?

About 30 to 45 minutes for a month of 12 to 16 posts, if the approver checks offers, claims, people and tone rather than rewriting captions for style. Book it as a fixed slot in their diary.

Should the business owner approve every social media post?

Usually not individually. Approving the month in one sitting gives the owner control without delays. Offers, customer stories and regulated content can be flagged for a definite yes, and everything else passes by default.
