What is case study content?

Case study content tells the story of one customer: the problem they had, what you did and what changed. On social media it appears as written posts, carousels, short video testimonials and quote graphics. It is one of the most persuasive formats because it shows real results.

How much does a case study cost?

A written case study needs an interview, a write-up, approvals and a few graphics, about 4 to 10 hours or £300–£1,000 at UK agency rates. A video testimonial adds a half-day of filming at about £300–£600 and £110–£400 per edited clip. These are indicative figures, not a GBL price list.

  • Written case study with graphics: indicative £300–£1,000.
  • Half-day testimonial filming: indicative £300–£600.
  • Each edited clip: indicative £110–£400.
  • Remote video interview: lower cost than on-site filming.

What makes a case study persuasive?

Specific detail makes a case study persuasive: the customer's situation before, the concern that nearly stopped them, what happened and a result they can describe in their own words. Vague praise reads like an advert. One honest, detailed story beats several generic ones.

Get written consent from the customer for how their story, name, image and business will be used, including in ads. Claims about results must be accurate and typical under the CAP Code. Never present a paid or invented story as a genuine customer review.

How do you get more value from one case study?

Cut it into several pieces: a carousel of the story, two or three short clips, a quote graphic, a post for LinkedIn and a page on your website. Spread them over several weeks. The interview time is paid once and the content keeps working.

What does this look like in practice?

A pattern we see with UK trades and professional services clients: happy customers say kind things on the phone, but nothing is captured. Global Bridge Labs (GBL) runs a short interview, turns it into a set of posts and clips with the customer's approval, and schedules them across the following weeks.

Case study checklist

Prepare these before the interview.

  • A customer willing to take part.
  • Written consent covering ads and website use.
  • Questions about before, during and after.
  • Photos or footage of the work.
  • Plan for posts and clips from one story.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a customer case study cost to produce?

As indicative UK figures, a written case study with an interview, write-up and graphics takes 4 to 10 hours and costs about £300–£1,000. A filmed testimonial adds about £300–£600 for a half-day of filming plus £110–£400 per edited clip.

Do I need permission to publish a customer case study?

Yes. Get written consent covering the customer's name, image, business and how the story will be used, including in paid ads and on your website. Let them approve the final version before it goes live.

Is a video testimonial better than a written case study?

Video is often more persuasive on social media because people see and hear the customer. Written case studies are cheaper and work well on LinkedIn and websites. Many businesses do both from one interview.

How many posts can one case study produce?

Often several: a carousel, two or three short clips, a quote graphic, a longer LinkedIn post and a website page. Spreading them over a few weeks gets the most value from one interview.
