Key takeaways

Facebook ads management cost in the UK is indicatively £300–£1,000 a month as a flat fee for a small business account, covering Facebook and Instagram together. Ad spend is on top. Below about £300–£500 a month of spend, a management fee is hard to justify.

  • £300–£1,000 a month is the indicative fee to manage a small Meta ad account.
  • £300–£500 a month of ad spend is the floor for readable results.
  • Facebook and Instagram ads run from one account, so one fee covers both.
  • Ad spend should be billed to your own ad account by Meta.

What is Meta ads management?

Meta ads management is the planning, building, monitoring and reporting of paid campaigns on Facebook and Instagram through Meta Ads Manager. It covers audiences, creative, budgets, tracking and regular adjustments to lower the cost of each enquiry or sale.

How much does Meta ads management cost?

Managing one or two campaigns well takes about 4 to 10 hours a month, or roughly £300–£1,000 at the £75–£100 an hour implied by typical UK retainers. Larger accounts are often charged 10% to 20% of spend with a minimum fee. These are indicative figures, not a GBL price list.

  • One always-on campaign: indicative £300–£500 a month.
  • Several campaigns with retargeting: indicative £500–£1,000.
  • Larger accounts: often 10% to 20% of spend, with a minimum.
  • Account and tracking set-up: sometimes a one-off charge.

How much should you spend on the ads themselves?

Start at about £300–£500 a month, aimed tightly at the area you serve. Splitting a £400 budget across five audiences gives each about £2.60 a day, which is too little to learn from. One campaign with enough budget teaches you more than five starved ones.

What must the fee cover?

The fee must cover campaign structure, audiences, ad creative or a stated allowance, conversion tracking, weekly checks and a monthly report on cost per enquiry. If creative is excluded, ask the price, because fresh creative is what keeps results from fading.

  • Campaign and audience set-up.
  • Creative: images, video and copy.
  • Conversion tracking checked monthly.
  • Weekly optimisation.
  • Report on spend, enquiries and cost per enquiry.

What rules apply to your ads?

Your ads must be clearly identifiable as ads and must not mislead, under the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) rules. You are responsible for what runs in your name, even when an agency writes it. Regulated sectors such as finance and health have further restrictions.

When is paying for ads management not worth it?

It is not worth it when the ad budget is under about £300 a month, when your website cannot convert visitors, or when you cannot handle more enquiries. Fix the landing page and the follow-up first, or the fee and the spend both leak away.

How often should campaigns be reviewed?

Weekly is enough for a small account. A weekly check catches rising costs, tired creative and tracking faults before they waste much budget. Daily changes do more harm than good on small budgets, because significant edits can restart the platform's learning phase. A monthly review then sets budget and creative for the next month.

  • Weekly: spend, cost per enquiry, creative fatigue.
  • Fortnightly: refresh one or two adverts.
  • Monthly: report, budget and next tests.
  • Quarterly: review audiences and offers.

What does this look like in practice?

Global Bridge Labs (GBL) runs Meta campaigns aimed at buyers in the client's service area, with retargeting so warm visitors come back, and reports leads and cost per lead on one page. Across GBL social media clients, qualified leads per month rise by an average of +62%.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Facebook ads management cost in the UK?

As an indication, £300–£1,000 a month as a flat fee for a small business account, covering Facebook and Instagram. Larger accounts are often charged 10% to 20% of ad spend with a minimum fee. Ad spend is on top.

Are Instagram ads managed separately from Facebook ads?

No. Both run through Meta Ads Manager from the same ad account, so one management fee normally covers both. The creative may differ by placement, which can affect production cost. Ask whether creative for both placements is included.

What is the minimum budget for Facebook ads?

For a local UK business, about £300–£500 a month is the floor at which results can be interpreted. Smaller budgets produce too little data to tell a weak offer from normal variation. Spend it on one campaign, not several.

Should the agency or my business own the ad account?

Your business. Keep the ad account, pixel and page in your name and give the agency partner access. You then keep your audiences, data and campaign history if you change supplier. Ask to be the admin, with the agency added as a partner.
