Key takeaways

B2B social media agency cost in the UK sits in the same £950–£2,500 a month band most SMEs pay, but the money buys different work: fewer posts, more writing and senior input, and usually LinkedIn. Value has to be judged over quarters, because B2B buyers take months to decide.

  • £950–£2,500 a month is the typical fee for a B2B social media programme.
  • The fee buys writing and senior thinking more than design and video.
  • LinkedIn is usually the main channel, with one supporting channel.
  • Judge value over two or three quarters, not weeks.

How is B2B social media different to price?

B2B social media is priced on expertise more than volume. Posts need to show knowledge of the buyer's problem, so the writer must interview your people. There are fewer posts than in consumer work, but each takes longer to get right.

What does a B2B programme cost?

As an indication, a company page with 8 to 12 posts a month costs £600–£1,000, and adding a founder's profile takes it to £1,000–£1,500. A full programme with a second channel, reporting and review sits within £950–£2,500. Advertising is separate. These are market indications, not a GBL price list.

  • Company page only: indicative £600–£1,000 a month.
  • Page plus founder content: indicative £1,000–£1,500.
  • Full programme with second channel: within £950–£2,500.
  • LinkedIn ads: separate fee and a larger media budget.

How do you judge value on a long sales cycle?

Judge it on leading signs first, then on pipeline. In the first quarter look for views from target companies, profile visits and conversations. Over two or three quarters look for enquiries that mention your content and shorter sales calls. One contract can repay a year of fees.

What must your team contribute?

Your team must contribute knowledge. A 30-minute monthly call with a director, plus customer questions forwarded as they arise, is usually enough. Without that input the agency writes general industry commentary, which costs the same and persuades nobody.

  • A 30-minute monthly interview.
  • Customer questions and objections.
  • Case examples, with client permission.
  • Fast approval, ideally within two working days.

Which B2B extras raise the fee?

Extras that raise the fee include content for several directors, employee advocacy programmes, webinars and event coverage, and compliance review in regulated sectors. Each is reasonable, and each should be a named line in the quote.

When is a B2B agency not worth it?

It is not worth it when you sell to a handful of named accounts that direct contact reaches faster, or when nobody senior will give time. In those cases a consultant's advice and founder-written posts cost less and do more.

What does a B2B report need to show?

A B2B report should show whether the right people are paying attention. Follower totals matter less than who the followers are. Ask for views and followers from target companies and job titles, conversations started, meetings booked and enquiries that mention your content. Those are the early signs of pipeline.

  • Reach among target companies and job titles.
  • Profile visits to directors and the company page.
  • Conversations and meetings started.
  • Enquiries that mention your content.

What does this look like in practice?

A pattern we see with UK B2B service firms: the company page is quiet and the directors never post. A monthly interview turned into weekly founder posts and a steady page gives buyers something to check when your name comes up in a tender.

B2B cost checklist

Settle these before asking for quotes.

  • Define your buyer by job title and company size.
  • Work out the value of one new customer.
  • Name the director who will give input.
  • Decide page only, or page plus profiles.
  • Agree the leading signs you will track.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a B2B social media agency cost in the UK?

Most B2B programmes sit within the £950–£2,500 a month paid by UK SMEs. As an indication, a company page alone costs £600–£1,000 and adding founder content takes it to £1,000–£1,500. Advertising is separate. Ask for the page and each profile to be priced separately.

Is B2B social media more expensive than B2C?

The fee is similar, but it buys different work. B2B needs fewer posts with more senior writing and interviews. B2C needs more design, video and community management. Compare the hours and seniority, not the post count.

Which platform should a B2B business pay for first?

Usually LinkedIn, because it reaches people by job title and employer. Some B2B firms selling to trades or small business owners find Facebook or Instagram works as well, so check where your buyers are. Ask your best customers where they read about their industry.

How long before B2B social media produces leads?

Often two or three quarters. Most B2B buyers are not in the market at any given time, so content builds familiarity for when they are. Track conversations and target-company reach in the meantime. Expect the first signs in conversations, not in form fills.
